Jon Moodey,
Program Director Boys' Soccer
Prior to joining Northwood, Jon served as founder and CEO of Black Rock Football Club. Before that, he served as the Head Soccer Coach at Berkshire School for 11 years, where he won three National Prep Championships. While at Berkshire, Jon was also an Associate Director of Admission and member of the English faculty. Jon brings over 20 years of experience in coaching and education to Northwood School. Jon is married to Martina Moodey, a former member of the Spanish faculty at Berkshire School. They have two children and reside on campus.

Kelvin Martinez joined Northwood from the Fay School in Southborough, MA. Mr. Martinez serves as Northwood's Dean of Multicultural Affairs and Recruitment. He is also a Spanish instructor and head coach of the boys’ soccer team. He is currently working on his Ph.D. at the University of Albany in the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Mr. Martinez lives on campus with his wife Nora and their three children.
Simon Shergold,
Soccer Coach / History Instructor
Simon Shergold is a high school History teacher from the UK, recently settled in Lake Placid with his family. He worked for nearly 20 years as a classroom teacher and Head of Department in England, as well as playing semi-professional soccer for the Corinthian Casuals. He first worked on the fields of Northwood 20 years ago as a soccer coach and is looking forward to teaching and coaching in this beautiful region and enjoying all the opportunities living in Lake Placid offers.
Komar Martinez-Paiz,
Asst. Soccer Coach / Spanish Instructor
Komar Martinez-Paiz returns to Northwood as an assistant soccer coach as well as a Spanish instructor. He earned his B.A in American Studies at Wesleyan University concentrating on race and ethnicity and also played soccer for Wesleyan. Komar has also played a role with Black Rock FC nearly every year since its inception in 2013. In his spare time he enjoys reading, writing, and practicing mindfulness.
