Northwood students have the opportunity to explore area mountain biking trails as a co-curricular option during the spring and/or fall seasons. The program is open to all ability levels and bikers utilize a vast network of nearby trails. This includes the behind the Lake Placid Club golf courses, , and   in Wilmington among others nearby. Bikers learn basics of technique, etiquette, and bike maintenance and the group works to create a team atmosphere of fun, good stewardship, and appreciation for the outdoors all while enjoying the many mountain biking options in the Lake Placid area. Students need to have access to a mountain bike for this activity. These can be rented at area bike shops if needed.
